Grant Application Process

Thank you for your interest in applying for a Rising Together Alliance grant! Eligible schools are welcome to apply to two grant opportunities:

(1) Professional Development in Inclusive Education

(2) 1:1 Paraprofessional Support for Special Needs Students.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR A RISING TOGETHER ALLIANCE GRANT?

Our grant awards will provide partial funding to qualifying schools and programs for the support of children with significant special needs. To qualify, a school is:  

  • Diocesan elementary school within the boundaries of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia,  

  • Accepting student(s) who would not be able to attend without additional educational support. 

  • Has a degreed Special Education teacher on staff or the Archdiocesan School Office must validate the existence of appropriate educational support for the student(s).  

  • Can demonstrate the commitment of its Principal and Pastor to inclusive education. 

  • Can demonstrate commitment of benefitting families to the Rising Together Alliance mission through participation in events and meetings.

WHAT STUDENTS ARE A GOOD FIT FOR A RISING TOGETHER ALLIANCE GRANT?

Any child with special needs who would NOT be able to attend without paraprofessional support may apply for a Rising Together Alliance grant if/when specific criteria is met. We understand that each child is an individual and has unique needs. As a guide, our recipients typically have Down Syndrome and mild autism, however all students with special needs will be considered.

I AM A PARENT OF A STUDENT WITH SPECIAL NEEDS WHO I WOULD LIKE TO ENROLL IN MY ARCHDIOCESE OF PHILADELPHIA PAROCHIAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. WHAT DO I DO NEXT?

Please contact your school principal to request a meeting to discuss the possibility of your child attending your parochial school. Parents are encouraged to provide any appropriate information to the principal including diagnosis and educational needs. If your principal is unsure or has questions, please strongly encourage them to reach out to us for more information!
