INCLUSION IN CATHOLIC SCHOOLS

The Journal of Catholic Education released a special issue about inclusion in Catholic schools! The journal seeks to answer three questions: Why should Catholic schools include, what is inclusion, and how do we include?

POPE FRANCIS' STATEMENT AND CALL FOR INCLUSION

Inclusion should be the first “rock” on which to build our house. “The decision to include or exclude can serve as a criterion for judging every economic, political, social and religious project. Each day we have to decide whether to be Good Samaritans or indifferent bystanders.”

NATIONAL CATHOLIC BOARD ON FULL INCLUSION

The National Catholic Board on Full Inclusion is the place where families and educators and administrators and faith-filled people could go to find resources and proof that full inclusion in a Catholic school is possible.

NATIONAL CATHOLIC PARTNERSHIP ON DISABILITY

Catholic schools are better able to live out the mission of the Church when people of all abilities are present. Follow the link for information that explains the Church's call to inclusion in Catholic schools, as well as helpful information to help make inclusion possible.
